The preliminary program has been uploaded. You can find it in the Scientific Program menu. The program of Tutorials is also available.

Scope

The organizers warmly invite you to participate in the forthcoming new edition of the well established conference series AMSALS international symposium. The main goal of the meeting is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for materials scientists, polymer chemists, physicists, engineers and pharmacologists in the field of smart, nanostructured systems and engineered interfaces for wide range of applications from human care to optical devices. Presentations will target the topics from fundamental science to applied research.

The topics selected for the symposium are:

  • advanced surfaces: layer-by-layer and other film forming techniques; molecular interactions on surfaces; surface modification and characterization;
  • polymers and hydrogels focusing on controlled delivery: responsive features (pH-, thermo-, redox- and enzyme-sensitivity); injectable systems; tissue engineering and implants;
  • design of nanoparticles, liposomes; micro- encapsulation and diagnostic labeling; release kinetics and mechanism of molecular payloads;
  • diverse applications in biomedical, biomimetic systems and technologies; pharmaceutical appli- cations; industrial applications from cosmetics to waste water treatment; multiple uses as solar cells, sensors and optical devices.

The scientific program will include invited lectures, contributed oral and poster presentations. The organizers specifically encourage younger scientists to present their ideas and results to the international audience. There will also be abundant opportunity to discuss ideas and strengthen personal ties with the community. On the first day a Tutorial Program is offered for graduate and PhD students or young scientists focusing on hydrogels and controlled release of molecular payloads.

Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts based on their lectures for consideration to be published in European Polymer Journal or in Macromolecular Symposia after the standard reviewing process. The details of submission will be given here.
